Things to Consider with New Installations
Before installing any new phone or data points in your home or office, there are a few things that need to be considered and we can walk through these with you on the day when we visit your property.
#1. The position of your NBN connection box
Your NBN box connects to the Wi-Fi router that you receive from your internet service provider. The location of your NBN connection box should be placed somewhere that the Wi-Fi signal can be distributed evenly around your home without the use of a booster.
#2. The location of your phone & data points
When our team from North Lakes & Surrounds Electrical come out to install new points or upgrade existing ones, we may give you advice on the best location so as to reduce installation time and receive a significantly more reliable connection. Hard wired data access points may serve you better than Wi-Fi so it is a good idea to consider RJ45 sockets close to your television or computer.

By far the most common antenna service we are called out for, TV antenna installations are intended to offer crystal clear reception through the UHF and VHF brands. These are positioned in a straight line toward your nearest signal transmitting station and it is vital that a qualified electrician installs these. Outdoor antennas, or aerials, can be installed on the roof, in your attic or on the side of your home in either directional or multi-directional styles. Directional antennas are the ones that point toward the broadcasting tower to receive the signal whereas multi-directional can capture the signal no matter where they are pointing.
Reception problems may occur when blockades such as trees, other buildings or mountains are in the pathway of your aerial. This safety check determines the level of electrical safety within your home. If any of these do not meet the current standards as set out by the Queensland Government, we will provide a quote to resolve this breach.
